The Kansas City Chiefs were struggling at running back heading into the 2022 season.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire didn’t turn out to be the playmaker they thought he could be, and after spending first-round draft capital on him, it felt like the Chiefs were up a creek without a paddle.
Enter Isiah Pacheco.
Pacheco might have been a seventh-round draft pick in 2022, but he has been a breath of fresh air to this offense over the past two seasons.
He is a big reason that Patrick Mahomes has been so successful through the air this year, as his rushing prowess has stifled nearly every defense they play.
Ahead of the Super Bowl, Pacheco talked about his rushing style, as he recanted in a conversation with the NFL Network.
He said, “Having the mindset of getting the job done, no man can take me down.”

He also quoted Marshawn Lynch, saying that he is always “standing on business” when he attacks any sort of run.
For Pacheco, it doesn’t seem to matter how tired he is, or what defender stands in his way.
He believes that his role is to run and run hard for the Chiefs, which is exactly what he has done for the past two years.
It will be interesting to see what his strategy is against the 49ers, who have one of the best rushing defenses in the league.
The 49ers present a tough test, but if anyone is up to the challenge, Pacheco seems like the right person to get it done.
