The Los Angeles Chargers recently made a surprising move to trade one-time All-Pro cornerback J.C. Jackson to the New England Patriots, where he won a Super Bowl title under head coach Bill Belichick against the Los Angeles Rams in 2019.
Jackson signed a massive deal with the Chargers back in 2022 and was considered to be a major acquisition for the defense, which had arguably taken a giant leap toward being one of the best in the NFL.
However, the relationship between the Chargers and Jackson never worked out as planned, and the two sides seemed headed for an ugly divorce.
Ironically enough, Jackson was traded to the Patriots after New England lost rookie Christian Gonzalez to a season-ending injury.
Jackson claims he was shocked by the trade to New England and didn’t want to talk about what happened in Los Angeles, but is pleased to be moving on by returning to the Patriots via Bridget Condon of NFL Network.
J.C. Jackson says he doesn’t want to speak about what happened in Los Angeles “I’m moving on” he also says he “couldn’t believe it” when he found out he was getting traded back to New England but he was “happy about it”

Unfortunately for Jackson, the Patriots seem to be headed in a downward spiral this season, with the team struggling to get anything going offensively while seemingly being a decent defensive team.
Adding Jackson back into the mix is a step in the right direction for the Patriots, but at this point, the team would’ve been better off trading for a proven veteran quarterback rather than bolstering their defense.
Mac Jones has really struggled so far this season, and there’s no telling whether he’ll be able to turn things around, as New England appears to get worse and worse with every passing week.
