The Denver Broncos trade for Russell Wilson was a move that was seemingly heard around the world.
This was a massive deal for the organization, which has been searching for a franchise quarterback for many years.
While Wilson presented a significant upside at the time of his trade, his first two years with the team haven’t yielded the results the team was hoping for.
They have not made the playoffs during his tenure, and their best record in the past two seasons was 2023, where they went 8-9.
With this in mind, there is a growing belief that the Broncos are searching for a new QB to lead them.
Because Wilson is signed to a massive contract, they will likely be unable to attract top free-agent talent, meaning they might have to target someone in the draft.
Thankfully for the Broncos, the 2024 class is said to have excellent quarterback talent, including former Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy.
McCarthy recently had a meeting with the Broncos, and according to his conversation with reporter Brandon Krisztal, he said it “would be an honor” to play for them.

Even though they haven’t experienced great success since the departure of Peyton Manning, the Broncos are a historic organization.
McCarthy seems excited at the prospect of playing for this team.
The Broncos have a great defense that could help set a young quarterback up for success in their first season.
If they do take a chance on McCarthy, he would also be surrounded by several veterans on offense, who could also make for a positive first season.
