Before the start of the season, some analysts and talking heads raved about the Jacksonville Jaguars.
They were left quite impressed with the way they closed out last season, even in spite of their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
And looking at their schedule for this campaign, plus predicting another leap by Trevor Lawrence, they predicted this team could be way better than some anticipated.
So far, that’s been the case with Doug Pederson’s team.
They’re 5-2 for the first time since 2007 (via PFF), winning four games in a row.

Their two losses were a close one vs. the reigning Super Bowl champions, and a shocking upset vs. the Houston Texans for C.J. Stroud’s first career win.
They’ve been dominant in every other game, including two big wins in London.
Those 2007 Jaguars ended the season with an 11-5 record and a loss in the Divisional Round vs. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
There’s no Brady anymore, but they will still need to get past Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Tua Tagovailoa, and/or Josh Allen to reach the big game.
Needless to say, it’s still early to make such a big prediction, but their remaining schedule is mostly winnable, and they should have no problem getting back-to-back divisional titles, especially with the Tennessee Titans struggling and Anthony Richardson missing the remainder of the season.
Doug Pederson has done an outstanding job in charge of the team.
They might not win the Super Bowl this season, but they’re definitely heading in the right direction.
