The Jacksonville Jaguars have entered a new era over the last few seasons with former Super Bowl-winning head coach Doug Pederson at the helm and Pro Bowl quarterback Trevor Lawrence under center.
So naturally, with the team presumably on the rise, Jacksonville has unveiled new throwback uniforms this offseason as a way to commemorate the past while also looking toward the future.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team will wear their “Prowler Throwbacks” against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5 this season.

It is fair to mention that Jacksonville doesn’t have the richest history.
If you were to rank teams based on success and history, the Jaguars would be at the bottom of the list.
Founded in 1995, the team has made the playoffs just eight times and has a career winning percentage of 42.7%.
These throwback jerseys are a shoutout to the great players of the past such as Pro Bowl quarterback Mark Brunnell, Pro Bowl running back Maurice Jones-Drew, and many others.
However, this current Jaguars regime is looking to contend in a way that has never been done before in Jacksonville.
They have a successful head coach in Pederson and a talented quarterback in Lawrence.
The offense around Lawrence is solid and thanks to Pro Bowl edge-rusher Josh Hines-Allen, the defense can cause problems for opposing offenses too.
After back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in two decades, the Jaguars are on the rise.
Looking ahead to 2024, they will look to do what the teams of the past could not, which is win the Super Bowl.
