The Miami Dolphins’ Week 16 battle with the Dallas Cowboys will ultimately affect both teams’ seedings for their respective playoff runs.
Each team sits at 10-4 with a slim shot for the No. 1 seed, but both could finish with a divisional title.
One of the biggest matchups of this game, though, is between Dolphins star cornerback Jalen Ramsey and Cowboys star receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Ramsey has been a stud in the secondary since he returned from injury in Week 8, while Lamb ranks second in receptions, fourth in receiving yards, and sixth in receiving touchdowns amid a career year for the wideout.
But even though this could be the marquee duel of the night, Ramsey noted he might not shadow Lamb for the entirety of the game.
“I don’t think that’s the game plan,” Ramsey said Friday, according to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe. “I don’t think that’s my role in this defense.”
Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey to us today on if he will shadow Cowboys star WR Ceedee Lamb: “I don’t think that’s the game plan. I don’t think that’s my role in this defense.”
Ramsey shadowed Jets’ Garrett Wilson last Sunday in late adjustment only because Xavien Howard was inactive.

Ramsey has three interceptions on the season already and has allowed just 11 receptions for 154 yards and no touchdowns on 27 targets against him.
He’s also allowed just 39 total yards after the catch for those he covers.
These are elite numbers, but not new for the six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro.
Ramsey joined the Dolphins in an offseason trade from the Los Angeles Rams but suffered a torn meniscus during the summer and was placed on injured reserve before the season started.
He’s been back for weeks, though, and has re-established himself as a premier cornerback in the Dolphins’ defense.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys’ No. 2 scoring offense and No. 6 passing offense should present an interesting challenge, though.
