It appears that this simply isn’t the Cincinnati Bengals‘ year.
Even though they were considered legitimate Super Bowl contenders by most coming into this year, they saw quarterback Joe Burrow suffer a strained calf during training camp, and as a result, he played very poorly to start the year, and not coincidentally, the Bengals lost three of their first four games.
They won their next four games and were starting to look like their normal selves again when Burrow suffered a wrist injury last Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens and was declared out for the rest of the year.
This Sunday, Cincinnati will host the Pittsburgh Steelers and star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase shared a message of defiance, per Steelers Depot.

Chase has been putting up his usual numbers this year — he has 71 catches for 833 yards and six touchdowns through 10 games — and he will need to play large to keep his team afloat.
Jake Browning will now take over under center, and at age 27, he has appeared in only two NFL games, both of which took place this season.
After Burrow went down last week, Browning completed eight of 14 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown in the 34-20 loss to Lamar Jackson and company.
The Bengals have a 5-5 record, which has kept them within striking distance of a playoff spot, but their remaining schedule is very challenging, as they will face the Steelers again in Week 16, this time in Western Pennsylvania, as well as the Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cleveland Browns.
