Jameis Winston’s NFL career has been something of a whirlwind.
He won the Heisman Trophy in 2013 and was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
His career in Tampa was up and down, as he was known as a gun-slinger, providing some fantastic plays while also throwing some questionable interceptions.
When it was clear that the Buccaneers were going to sign Tom Brady, there was no more room for Winston on the team, forcing him to sign a contract with the New Orleans Saints.
Winston has only started ten games for the Saints, but even if he is a backup, it is clear he enjoys being a part of this roster.
In a recent conversation shared via Pro Football Talk, Winston said, “I would love to stay in NOLA forever,” adding, “But, whatever the Lord has planned for me, I’m going to go and do my best, wherever that is.”

Winston also indicated that he loves the “energy” that New Orleans provides, something he hopes to be a part of for the rest of his career.
The Saints signed Derek Carr to a four-year contract in the 2023 offseason, linking him to the team for the foreseeable future.
Assuming he is healthy, he will be the team’s starter at the beginning of the 2024 season.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Winston as he becomes a free agent.
