To say that the Detroit Lions have been through a lot in history could be a bit of an understatement.
They’ve been bottom-feeders more often than not, so the fans aren’t exactly used to their team being as good as it is nowadays.
Even so, it seems like the local media hasn’t gotten the memo yet.
At least, that’s how QB Jared Goff seems to feel about it.
Talking on the Trading Cards podcast, Goff stated that as much as he loves Detroit and wants to be in the city for a very long time, he doesn’t care about local media and how negative they can be at times (via Dov Kleiman).
Lions QB Jared Goff feels that the local Detriot media is too negative:
“They almost almost relish in negativity.”

He stated that it almost seems like they relish on negativity at times.
Of course, big headlines get clicks, and clicks get revenue, so it makes sense that some outlets handle themselves that way.
There’s also plenty of uplifting media and outlets that are looking to support local teams, but again, they might not be the loudest.
Goff, in particular, has had to deal with plenty of mockery and criticism throughout the course of his career, especially in the season leading to his trade to the Lions.
Fortunately, the former No. 1 pick has been able to bounce back and get his career back on track, silencing his critics and proving that the Lions can definitely win and be a contending team with him at the helm.
Hopefiully, local media will also catch up and jump on board soon.
