It has been a somber offseason in Philadelphia, as the Eagles have lost a franchise legend on both sides of the ball to retirement in center Jason Kelce and defensive tackle Fletcher Cox.
As the Eagles are busy trying to fill the massive shoes of these two icons, the Phillies are trying to brighten up the mood a little in the city.
The Phillies invited both players to their game against the Atlanta Braves yesterday to throw out the first pitch

Most importantly, both Kelce and Cox got the ball to it’s destination in a clean manner and didn’t bounce it.
Unfortunately for the Phillies, Kelce and Cox’s admirable performances were not enough to fire the team up, as they got beat 12-4 by the Braves and are off to a 0-2 start to the season.
The Phillies got off to a strong start and knocked Braves starter Max Fried out of the game after recording just two outs in the first inning, but Phillies starter Aaron Nola had one of the worst starts of his career and got lit up for 12 hits and seven runs in 4.1 innings of work.
Needless to say, neither of them will be going viral like 50 Cent did for airmailing the first pitch to the backstop, which is just a testament to the clutch gene each of these legends possesses.
If things continue in this direction, Cox might have a nice second career as a Phillies reliever.
It’s always nice to see a city welcome its guys back, and these fans already miss Cox and Kelce tremendously.
Hopefully, this moment provided a nice dose of fun before such a disappointing game.
