Where Bill Belichick coaches next season will be the first big head coaching domino to fall this offseason.
After he and the New England Patriots parted ways following a 24-season tenure together, speculation about his next head coaching destination spiraled from one team to the next.
But FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer said Monday that he believes the top choice for Belichick will be the Atlanta Falcons because of how they’ve operated during the head coach hiring cycle and because of owner Arthur Blank’s desire to add a big name to his team’s sideline.
“As far as where Bill goes, I’ve always thought Atlanta since the start of it,” Glazer said. “I thought also, like, they’re the first ones to make a fire with Arthur Smith and didn’t put a [interview request] slip in for anyone else and no one realized it.”

Belichick has been linked to the Falcons all offseason already, so this is just more smoke around the rumor of where the ex-Patriots head coach will be in 2024.
The Falcons aren’t the most exciting team, but they have a bounty of offensive weapons in running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London, and tight end Kyle Pitts as well as a solid defense that shut teams down at times this past season.
Where the Falcons fell short in 2023, though, was finishing games and winning one of the weakest divisions in the NFL in the NFC South.
Atlanta is also in need of a quarterback after neither Desmond Ridder nor Taylor Heinicke showed much promise.
A Belichick-led Falcons team could make waves in the NFC, if that’s the direction he and Atlanta want to go.
