The NFL Draft is just around the corner, meaning some of the best prospects in the game are ready to take the league by storm.
For the first time in quite a while, there’s absolutely no doubt about the No. 1 pick, and that has been the case for almost a year now.
Caleb Williams is the undisputed No. 1 selection, and barring perhaps the biggest surprise in NFL history, that’s going to be the case by the time the Chicago Bears are on the clock.
Nonetheless, Jayden Daniels still likes his chances against Williams, or anybody else, for that matter.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, the LSU star stated that all competitors will always say they’re the best, so even though there are clearly some very good players in this class, he’s always going to bet on himself.
“Any competitor says they’re the best. … Even though it’s great players in there, I’m always going to bet on myself.”

Daniels might not be the No. 1 prospect in this class, but he’s not that far behind, either.
He was the most electric player in all of college football last season, and whichever team gets him — most likely the Washington Commanders — is going to have a generational talent to build around.
Also, it wouldn’t be the first time that the No. 2 pick outplays the No. 1 selection, and there’s not much of a point in comparing them at this point in their careers.
Once it’s all said and done and after their playing days are over, it’ll be nice to look back and determine who was the better player after all.
