Winning the Heisman Trophy tends to carry a lot of weight in the minds of NFL teams.
If a quarterback wins this award, their odds of being selected within the top-five picks in the NFL Draft are very high.
Take the last five Heisman winners to be drafted, for example.
Bryce Young was the No. 1 overall pick in 2022, which was true for Joe Burrow, Kyler Murray, and Baker Mayfield.
DeVonta Smith is the only outlier, but as a wide receiver, he would be unlikely to be selected No. 1 overall.
He went to the Philadelphia Eagles, who took him No. 10 overall.
The 2024 NFL Draft presents a unique situation: two former Heisman-winning quarterbacks are slated to be first-rounders.
Caleb Williams is the likely No. 1 pick, as that has been a public prediction for the past several months.
Jayden Daniels is the reigning Heisman winner, but his name isn’t often mentioned in a similar light as Williams’.
This has caused his draft stock to be something of a mystery.
Some analysts predict him to be taken in the first three picks, while others indicate that he could fall.
Regardless, Daniels seems to be ready for whatever happens.
He spoke with reporters ahead of the Combine, and per reporter Matthew Paras, he said, “I’ll be blessed wherever I hear my name called.”

At least publically, Daniels seems content with whatever team drafts him in April.
Playing in the NFL is a dream of many young athletes, and if a team selects him, they will be fulfilling that dream.
Where will Daniels end up?
