The 2023 NFL Season wasn’t the kindest to the Washington Commanders.
They finished the season with a 4-13 record, tied for the second-worst in the league.
While there are many reasons why the Commanders’ season wasn’t quite what they expected, inconsistency at quarterback was one of their most significant issues.
With this in mind, Commanders fans expect the team to draft a quarterback, effectively starting over at the position.
One of their potential options is Jayden Daniels, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.
Daniels has interviewed with the team, and judging by his most recent comments, it appears that this interview went well.
According to reporter JP Finlay, Daniels talked about “how cool the whole staff was” when mentioning his meeting with the Commanders.

The Commanders organization has worked tirelessly to improve it’s reputation after the Dan Snyder era.
While they might still have some work to do and some wounds to heal, Daniels’ comments indicate they are taking steps in the right direction.
If the Commanders were impressed with his answers throughout the interview, Daniels could be a great fit for this offense.
They already have several wide receivers and other skill-position players that could benefit from a player like Daniels, itching to work with the same QB for an entire season.
Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson have already proven themselves as viable options, and pairing them with Daniels would be a mutually beneficial solution.
With this draft class being loaded with quarterback talent, the Commanders should hopefully be able to find a new starter, even if Daniels doesn’t end up being the prospect they select.
