With the Super Bowl finishing last weekend, the 2024 NFL offseason is officially underway for all 32 teams around the league, which also means we are closer to the start of the 2024 NFL Draft in April.
Former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is expected to be one of the top picks in this year’s draft, especially after his final college season resulted in him winning the Heisman Trophy.
Recently, Daniels was asked why he believes he deserves to be a top selection in the upcoming 2024 draft (via TMZSports on YouTube).
“My leadership qualities, I’ve been through adversity, and my competitive nature. A lot of people don’t know I’m so competitive until they actually get to meet me 1-on-1 and actually have a conversation.”
Before he stepped on the field for his 2023 season at LSU, most didn’t view Daniels as a potential top-five pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
However, the young quarterback was so impressive in his final college season that it has propelled him into the conversation of being one of the first signal-callers drafted in April.
Daniels has a lot to offer a potential team in the league, as he is highly skilled out on the field, both as a passer and a rusher.
At LSU in 2023, he completed 72.2 percent of his passes, averaged 318 passing yards per matchup, threw 40 touchdowns and just four interceptions, and also rushed for 1,134 yards and another 10 scores.
It will be interesting to see where Daniels lands in the draft later on this year because whoever does end up with the former LSU quarterback is going to be getting a tremendously dynamic playmaker.
A lot can change over the next few weeks, but Daniels being one of the first signal-callers selected in this year’s NFL Draft still currently feels like a safe bet to make.
