The best teams in the NFL are on to the playoffs, where a few more will get knocked off before, eventually, a Super Bowl champion will be crowned.
Even before a single wild card game is played, though, the best teams have already revealed themselves – both in their seeding and their performances on the field over the past few weeks.
The best teams in the NFL play their best football at the end of the year to build momentum into the postseason, and ESPN analyst and former NFL head coach and offensive lineman Jeff Saturday revealed who he believes are the five best teams heading into wildcard weekend: The Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, and the Dallas Cowboys.

Unsurprisingly, four of the five times listed are division winners and the top-two teams are the No. 1 seeds in their respective conferences.
However, the Browns didn’t win their division – the Ravens did – but nevertheless look like an unstoppable team after going 4-1 with Joe Flacco under center and one of the best defenses in the NFL.
The rest of the teams got hot right at the end of the season, with the Bills leading the way after Buffalo stole the AFC East crown from the Miami Dolphins with a crucial Week 18 victory on Sunday night.
The Cowboys won their 2023 regular-season finale as well to secure the NFC East, but would have won it anyway after the Philadelphia Eagles were shockingly blown out by the New York Giants the same day.
Baltimore and San Francisco remain the cream of the crop, but they won’t play for another week as they both have a first-round bye.
