Around the NFL, a number of teams made deals before the league’s trade deadline this past Tuesday, but the Dallas Cowboys were not one of them.
Understandably, some Cowboys fans were disappointed that their favorite team didn’t make any trades to help improve their chances to contend in the NFC this season.
But during a recent radio interview, Dallas owner and general manager Jerry Jones did his best to remind the team’s fanbase that they already made some big-time trades before the 2023 season even began (via The Athletic’s Jon Machota on Twitter).

It might not be the answer that Cowboys fans wanted to hear, but Dallas clearly didn’t feel the need to make any big deadline trades this season after acquiring players like cornerback Stephon Gilmore and wide receiver Brandin Cooks before the start of the 2023 campaign.
After making those trades, the Cowboys didn’t feel it was necessary to give up any more future assets to acquire a new player before the trade deadline earlier this week.
With the help of Gilmore and Cooks, Dallas is heading into Week 9 with a 5-2 record, and they’re only one game behind the Philadelphia Eagles for the top spot in the NFC East.
This weekend, the Cowboys will have a chance to move into first place in their division when they attempt to get a road victory over the Eagles.
Will Gilmore, Cooks, and others be able to lead Dallas to a big win over Philadelphia on Sunday or will the Eagles remain at the top of the NFC East?
