The Dallas Cowboys may have lost in the Wild Card Round, but the team has a superstar in CeeDee Lamb.
Lamb, a former first-round pick, has steadily improved every year since he entered the league but the 2023 NFL season was when he showed the world he’s one of the best receivers in the league.
From Week 1, Lamb established himself as the alpha in the passing game and Dak Prescott’s most trusted target.
Between crisp route running and amazing catches, Lamb did it all on the field en route to breaking the Cowboys’ single-season receiving record previously held by Michael Irvin.
On the year, Lamb recorded 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns, monster numbers for any player.
Owner Jerry Jones had to be pleased with what he saw from Lamb and acknowledged that the plan is to eventually sign him to a long-term extension via Jon Machota of The Athletic.
“Our goal is to extend CeeDee and plan to do that,” Jones said.

It’s a no-brainer for Jones and the Dallas front office to extend Lamb given his age and production up to this point.
There aren’t many wide receivers in the league that can do the things that Lamb does on the field and he is the perfect centerpiece to build a passing game around.
What that extension dollar amount looks like in the future is anybody’s guess, but it’ll be a worthy investment if the Cowboys are serious about winning a Super Bowl.
Lamb has earned a sizable raise and it’ll be fun to see what he has in store for the rest of the NFL in 2024.
