The New York Jets are one of the more fascinating NFL teams this offseason for a multitude of reasons.
One of those reasons has to do with one of their quarterbacks not named Aaron Rodgers.
Their former first-round pick Zach Wilson has been the subject of trade discussions this offseason after a disappointing first three seasons in New York.
Jets GM Joe Douglas was asked Friday morning about those discussions and if there is any news to report regarding a possible trade.
Here is what he had to say:
“Zach is an asset. At that same time, we’re obviously open to trading Zach. There have been discussions. Nothing has really changed since we talked down in Florida. But, we’re open to trading him. There’s just no news to report on that,” Douglas stated.

In his first three NFL seasons, Wilson has thrown 23 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.
The former BYU star also hasn’t put together a season with a total QBR above 40.
With a total record of just 12-21 with him as the starter, the Jets are seemingly ready to move on.
Seeing as Aaron Rodgers is under center for the next few seasons, the Jets have a little bit of time to look for their future franchise quarterback.
Remember, the team also signed veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor to a two-year deal earlier this offseason to be Rodgers’ backup.
However, it is unlikely that both Rodgers, 40, and Taylor, 34, will be on this team four or five years down the road.
So, they will need to find their future franchise quarterback in one of the next few drafts.
