The New York Jets have managed to claw their way back into the playoff picture after racking up another win in Week 8 over the New York Giants.
The Jets are now 4-3 and have a legitimate shot at competing for a Wild Card spot, though several teams in the AFC are in the mix as well.
However, New York has shown that they can win games on the back of their defense which has proven that they’re one of the best outfits in the league.
Zach Wilson hasn’t been amazing on the field, but he’s clearly doing just enough to move the Jets’ offense and keep them in games.
It may not be a perfect recipe for success, but New York isn’t complaining after they lost Aaron Rodgers to a torn Achilles in Week 1.
However, Jets GM Joe Douglas made a surprising statement about Rodgers, via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
“We’re expecting Aaron to be back,” Douglas said.

Douglas later clarified that he expects Rodgers to be with the team and that his playing status would depend on getting the medical staff’s clearance.
Rodgers has been hard at work on his rehab and has seemingly taken big steps towards a return to play.
Just recently, Rodgers was seen on the field making throws which suggests that he’s moving through his rehab process faster than expected.
For Rodgers to return this year, New York presumably needs to make the playoffs but at this point of the season, it’s not out of the question that their Hall of Fame quarterback suits up for them again.
