The New York Jets had a lot of expectations ahead of the 2023 season.
Armed with one of the defenses in the NFL and with Aaron Rodgers as their newest starting quarterback, things looked promising for this team.
The Jets had been in a playoff drought for more than a decade, and Rodgers and the rest of their new-look team were supposed to help turn things around.
However, as we now know, things didn’t turn out according to plan for this team.
As they look ahead to 2024, there is renewed optimism and hope surrounding this team.
Rodgers should be fully healthy in Week 1, and the Jets have added a few key pieces throughout the offseason to help improve the roster.
It appears that they are not done adding pieces, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
Dane Brugler recently had a conversation with Zack Blatt, talking about a player the Jets are high on heading into the draft.
“The Jets have done a lot of work on Brian Thomas,” Brugler said.

Brian Thomas Jr. is viewed as one of the best playmakers in one of the most loaded wide receiver classes in recent history.
Analysts and fans expect several skill-position players to be taken in the first round of this year’s draft, and with the Jets having pick 10, they are in a position to select a player like Thomas.
The Jets already have a WR1 in Garrett Wilson, but it never hurts to add to a dominant core, which is why they might be considering Thomas.
