The New York Jets were crushed when they found out quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon in Week 1.
As most know, that is an injury that would keep any player out for the remainder of the season.
But, Rodgers is doing his best to try and return this year.
He is recovering at an immaculate pace and it is not out of the question we could see him again this season.
On Wednesday, the Jets designated Rodgers to return from the Injured Reserve, meaning he is now able to practice with the team.
But, Jets head coach Robert Saleh wants to pump the brakes on Rodgers returning to playing anytime soon.
According to the Jets, Saleh said: “It’s a progression in his rehab.”
Also, Saleh mentioned that Rodgers can now throw to his teammates instead of staff members.

It seems like we will not be seeing Rodgers return to game action anytime soon.
But, the Jets have 21 days to decide if they want to activate him off IR or not.
It would only make sense for the Jets to activate Rodgers if they are still in the race.
Currently, the Jets have a 4-7 record, and their playoff hopes are looking dull.
They have to win at least two of their next three games for the team to remain in contention.
We have never seen a player tear his Achilles in the regular season and return that same year.
So for the Jets to allow Rodgers to try and return they have to still be in contention.
