When your team’s quarterback is Aaron Rodgers, you are going to do whatever it takes to load up the offense around him.
Why be in the NFL if that isn’t the mentality?
Before signing free agent receiver Mike Williams, the team was reportedly very interested in trading for former Broncos receiver and current Browns receiver Jerry Jeudy earlier this offseason.
According to The Athletic‘s Zack Rosenblatt, GM Joe Douglas offered more compensation for Jeudy than the Browns did.
“Douglas also pursued former Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy in March before he was dealt to the Cleveland Browns – even though the Jets actually offered more draft compensation,” Rosenblatt wrote in his article Wednesday.
The Broncos eventually dealt the former 1st-round pick to the Browns for a 5th and 6th-round pick.
This, along with New York actually adding Mike Williams, proves that they are serious about trying to win a Super Bowl this season.
With the Jets reportedly interested in trading up from No. 10 overall in the draft order in an effort to add another playmaker for Aaron Rodgers, it appears as though they aren’t done making moves.
Could Marvin Harrison Jr., Rome Odunze, or Brock Bowers be the targets for New York?
Adding one of those players to an offense that already has Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, and Mike Williams would truly be special.
If they can find a way to acquire another elite skill-position player and assuming the four-time MVP in Rodgers is healthy, good luck stopping this team in 2024.
