The New York Jets were among the most highly-discussed teams heading into the 2023 NFL season.
Aaron Rodgers joined the team and was expected to bring them back to the playoffs for the first time in 12 years.
Of course, due to his injury, the team faced quarterback inconsistency, ultimately leading to their downtrodden season.
Despite being eliminated from the playoffs, the Jets still seem to find a way to remain relevant in sports media.
Ari Meirov has recently announced that Garrett Wilson is switching his number to 5 after being 17 for his first two seasons.
#Jets WR Garrett Wilson will switch his jersey number to No. 5, which is what he wore at Ohio State.

As Meirov mentions, 5 was Garrett’s number at Ohio State, which means a lot to him moving forward.
The number 5 became available when Thomas Morstead handed it off to Wilson, a photo that Morstead shared on Twitter.
With Wilson switching numbers, it suddenly means that 17 is an available jersey number.
Is this foreshadowing a potential Davante Adams reunion with Rodgers?
Adams has worn 17 throughout his career and has a well-developed relationship with Rodgers from their shared time in Green Bay.
Fans immediately thought of this connection, hoping the front office would find a way to sign the All-Pro wide receiver.
This comes on the heels of Adams reportedly being unhappy with his current situation in Las Vegas.
The offseason is long, and there will likely be additional reports of Adams wanting to switch teams, hoping to find his way to an ideal landing spot.
Judging by the Jets’ investments at receiver heading into this year, it is unclear whether they will pursue a player of Adams’ caliber.
