The Cincinnati Bengals have been one of the most surprising teams in the NFL this year.
After making it to the AFC Championship for the past two seasons, it appears that the streak will come to an end this year.
The Bengals currently find themselves with a 5-6 record, largely due to a myriad of injuries that have plagued the team.
Joe Burrow’s season-ending wrist injury was the icing on the cake for this team, seemingly ending their playoff hopes.
With a less-than-ideal season taking place, many fans and analysts have looked beyond Burrow, trying to find another person to blame for the team’s struggles.
Zac Taylor is a commonly discussed topic, as some wonder if he is the right person to lead them as the head coach.
Bengals reporter Joe Goodberry recently tweeted about Taylor and Burrow, and how this pairing might not be in the organization’s best interest.
For those that want Zac Taylor fired, you’ve got one more year before the heat really gets turned up.
There has NEVER been a HC and QB combo that won a Super Bowl after their 5th year together.

As Goodberry points out, there has never been a head coaching duo in NFL history to win a Super Bowl after their fifth year together.
Meaning, if historical precedent means anything, Burrow and Taylor have just one year to figure things out.
While this statistic isn’t a direct indication of what is going to play out in Cincinnati, the end could be near for Taylor.
The Bengals invested significantly in Burrow in the offseason, meaning they are more heavily tied to him than they are to Taylor.
If the 2024 season looks similar to 2023, Taylor could find himself on the hot seat.
