The New York Jets have had an exciting offseason and are fresh off. strong 2024 NFL Draft that many evaluators are impressed with.
The team is positioned to be much better than they were last season as long as Aaron Rodgers is healthy at quarterback, and general manager Joe Douglas is particularly excited about one position group that has seen some significant upgrades since last season.
Douglas recently sat down with Eric Allen of Jets 360 and shared his thoughts on the team’s wide receiver room, describing it as a “pick your poison type of room” due to the different skills each player brings to the table, namely the addition of Mike Williams and his ability to win jump balls and play physical and the ability for Xavier Gipson to stretch the field vertically out of the slot.

The team also selected Malachi Corley in the third round out of Western Kentucky, and Douglas spoke at length about his abilities, highlighting his ability to make guys miss after the catch and how that is a skill that consistently translates from college to the pros.
Adding that element to this offense was a necessary one, as the Jets didn’t have a receiver on the roster who was known as that kind of receiver.
Corley had 79 catches for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns last season while putting up 101 catches for 1,293 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2022 as well.
This wide receiver room was looking bleak outside of Garrett Wilson heading into this offseason, but he now has plenty of help alongside him.
