The Cleveland Browns needed someone who could close out the season and lead them to the playoffs.
Many people questioned the team for signing Joe Flacco, who was a free agent and had struggled mightily since leaving the Baltimore Ravens.
Flacco then turned back the clock and silenced all the critics with some stellar play, taking the team to the wild card round.
He posted stellar numbers in the final stretch of the campaign, up to the point where he became a finalist for the Comeback Player of the Year award despite playing less than half of the season.
That’s why, when asked his thoughts about this honor, he told Zach Gelb that he doesn’t deserve the award.
“For sure,” said Flacco when asked if Damar Hamlin should win the award.

Flacco jokingly said that he was only coming back from being old and not with a team, stating that probably the other guys deserved it more than he did.
The other finalists are Tua Tagovailoa, Matthew Stafford, Baker Mayfield, and Damar Hamlin.
Needless to say, Flacco tipped his hat to the Buffalo Bills’ safety for being able to get back to a place where he felt mentally ready to get back out there and put his body on the line again after the life-threatening situation he went through.
And even though Hamlin barely played this season, Flacco still believes he deserves plenty of credit and that it was ‘pretty cool’ that he was able to get back on the field.
Truth be told, all of them could be rightful winners of the award this time.
