Through nine weeks, the Buffalo Bills are surprisingly sitting at 5-4 and in second place in the AFC East.
Buffalo hasn’t quite looked like the elite offensive team some were expecting them to be during the 2023 NFL season, though they’ve still got the talent and tools to make some noise in the postseason should they make it.
Josh Allen remains one of the best quarterbacks in the league, though he’s had to do more this season as protection in the pocket has been hard to come by some weeks.
However, Allen can’t lift the Bills by himself as the team is struggling to find some consistency on both sides of the ball.
For example, Buffalo was beaten by the Cincinnati Bengals and looked like a team that was in a different class.
To add insult to injury, Allen was fined by the NFL for his touchdown run via Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

On the run into the end zone, Allen can be seen pointing at the defender as he gets past him.
It’s not much of a taunt and didn’t seem to warrant a fine, but the league has been cracking down on instances like these much to the chagrin of fans.
Allen probably doesn’t care too much about the fine considering the team lost the game.
Week 10 features a great opportunity for the Bills to bounce back as they draw the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football.
Denver’s defense has been mediocre at best, so Allen could find himself running into the end zone again.
