During his long playing career in the NFL, quarterback Josh McCown played for almost half of the teams in the league, as he suited up for 12 different teams from 2002 to 2020, which is impressive, to say the least.
However, his playing career had to come to an end at some point in time, even though he was the ideal backup quarterback in a league that always needs veteran players to play in those spots.
After his playing career came to an end, McCown made the transition that a lot of veteran quarterbacks do by getting into coaching in some capacity, as he joined the Carolina Panthers as a quarterbacks coach last year.
Apparently, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, McCown is on the move once again, as he has been hired to become the quarterbacks coach for the Minnesota Vikings.

Obviously, McCown’s extensive experience in the NFL as a quarterback is invaluable to teams around the league, as he knows the ins and outs of playing the most important position on the football field and can provide guidance moving forward.
With McCown getting his second gig in the league as a quarterbacks coach, it’ll be interesting to see if that role becomes elevated in the future and if becoming a head coach or an offensive coordinator is in his future plans.
Only time will tell what’s in store for McCown, but as of right now, he continues to live the dream of having a very successful career in the NFL, both on and off the field.
