The New England Patriots have been atop many headlines throughout the NFL season.
A 4-13 record was not what the team was expecting coming into the year, and as a result, Bill Belichick’s name has come up in conversations.
There are rumblings that the 2023 season was Belichick’s last in New England and that the front office is looking in a different direction in the future.
However, these rumblings are just rumors and nothing more at the moment.
As Jeff Howe of The Athletic recently illustrated, Belichick is slated to meet with the Patriots in the coming days.
If he sticks around, there could be an upcoming reunion with Josh McDaniels, per Howe.
Josh McDaniels could return to Patriots if Bill Belichick remains as coach: Sources https://t.co/5s2kI3hGgK

McDaniels was the Patriots’ offensive coordinator for over ten seasons, a well-liked figurehead within the organization.
He was poached by the Las Vegas Raiders before the 2022 season, signing a contract to be their newest head coach.
However, after a failed experiment, the team fired him before his second season had concluded.
While this is not necessarily the end for McDaniels as a head coach, his performance was not looked upon fondly.
With Howe’s report in mind, he could return to a familiar organization, once again working alongside Belichick.
Of course, this seems contingent on Belichick sticking around for another year.
If Belichick is fired, it doesn’t seem likely that McDaniels will return, leaving his options for employment open heading into 2024.
The Patriots have been well-defined by coaches like Belichick and McDaniels for most of the past two decades.
Fans will be interested to see how the team will eventually move forward without one of them on the coaching staff.
