Ahead of the 2022 NFL season, the Denver Broncos decided to make a bold move and trade for superstar quarterback Russell Wilson, with the team having high hopes of repeating what they were able to do with Peyton Manning coming to town.
Unfortunately for Denver, the Wilson experiment hasn’t worked out, with the team struggling over the past two seasons and missing the NFL playoffs even though the Broncos were aiming high and hoping to be legitimate Super Bowl title contenders in the AFC.
As of right now, the expectation is that Wilson and the Broncos will part ways over the NFL offseason, which will give the veteran quarterback a chance to start fresh somewhere else with potentially a few teams that would be a good fit.
One team that is getting a lot of buzz as potentially being a landing spot for Wilson is the Pittsburgh Steelers, with the team arguably needing some veteran leadership under center rather than continuing to thrust Kenny Pickett in the fire.

Even though Pickett has gotten a vote of confidence from the team’s brass, the opportunity to bring in a proven veteran like Wilson, even if he’s lost a step or two, might be too good to pass up on, especially with team owner Art Rooney II wanting better results from the team immediately.
Only time will tell what will happen with Wilson, but it will be interesting to see where he lands.
