Quarterbacks have won the last ten NFL Most Valuable Player awards.
After Adrian Peterson took home the league’s most prestigious individual accolade in 2012, some notable quarterbacks have taken turns in winning that trophy.
Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and Patrick Mahomes are just some of the notable quarterbacks who have taken home the award.
For this season, FS1’s Joy Taylor sees another quarterback as the leading candidate for the league MVP.
“Yes, he is the frontrunner. We have to remove what we know about Brock Purdy,” Taylor said in a recent episode of Speak.

Taylor painted a picture in which everyone would have lost their minds if he came into the league as an early pick.
However, some fans and experts can’t go past the fact that he was the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Despite becoming “Mr. Irrelevant,” the Iowa State product has kept the San Francisco 49ers relevant.
He hasn’t lost in the regular season as a starter and has won two playoff games.
But there are those who would claim that he’s doing well because of the talent around him.
That’s a fair point, considering the 49ers have Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, and Trent Williams.
The Niners also have a defense that is among the league’s best.
Still, Purdy’s performance this season has been undeniably impressive.
Through five games, he has completed 72.1 percent of his throws (98 out of 136) for 1,271 yards, nine touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
Those numbers clearly indicate he is playing at a high level.
