After winning the first five games of the 2023 NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles suffered their first loss of the season in Week 6 against the New York Jets team that has struggled all season long without superstar Aaron Rodgers under center.
Even though the Jets have been struggling all season long, New York was able to impose its will on Sunday against the undefeated Eagles by putting constant pressure on star quarterback Jalen Hurts, forcing him to throw a career-high three interceptions.
It was arguably the worst performance of Hurts’ short career in the NFL thus far, which has turned some heads and made people question whether the rising star is really as good as he’s been getting credit for over the past two years.
With the Eagles hoping to move on from their first loss of the season, the team added a little firepower to the passing game for Hurts this week by bringing in veteran wideout Julio Jones, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Seven-time Pro-Bowl WR Julio Jones is signing a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, per sources. Jones will be reunited with his former Titans’ teammate, AJ Brown, who pushed for Tennessee to trade for him from Atlanta.

As if the receiving corps wasn’t talented enough with A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert leading the way, the team was able to land a future Hall of Famer with Jones added into the mix.
Even though Jones is far from the player he was in his prime during his time with the Atlanta Falcons catching passes from Matt Ryan, the veteran wide receiver might have something left in the tank, knowing that this could be his best chance to win a Super Bowl before he calls it a career.
Jones played in 10 games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, catching 24 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns.
