One of the big trades of the NFL offseason was the Chicago Bears sending former first-round quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers for multiple picks.
Fields is now the backup to veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, who signed a one-year deal in free agency with Pittsburgh.
The former Bear recently spoke with the Pittsburgh media about his time in Chicago.
“There were a lot of ups and downs…All in all, I appreciate every relationship that I’ve built…Nothing but love for the city, for the fans,” Fields said, per Mike DeFabo.

The former Ohio State star now has a great opportunity to sit behind a future Hall-of-Famer in Russell Wilson to learn how to become a more complete player.
He is still 25 years of age and has his whole career ahead of him.
But while in Chicago, Fields got dealt a tough hand playing for multiple head coaches and in a makeshift offense.
He has a total record of 10-28 as a starter and a career completion percentage mark of 60.3%.
Despite a lot of the struggles, he has proven how dynamic he can be on the ground.
Back in 2022, he rushed for 1,143 yards on the ground, along with 8 touchdowns.
Behind Wilson, Fields can learn how to become a better passer of the football.
After all, the nine-time Pro-Bowler is one of the best deep-ball throwers in the game.
Playing for a winner in head coach Mike Tomlin will also help Fields’ development.
Who knows if he will get an opportunity to start this season, but at the very least, he will have an opportunity to learn from one of the best signal-callers of the last decade.
