Although the Chicago Bears showed some improvement compared to last season, their 2023 NFL season has arguably been full of more ups and downs.
The Bears have some talented players across the roster, though there are still some serious questions about Justin Fields.
Fields got off to an incredibly slow start to the season and later got hurt, affecting his ability to prove any doubters wrong.
However, since Fields returned to the field Chicago looks competent and competitive and could very well win out the remainder of the year.
This is a crucial time for the franchise as they need to decide whether they keep Fields or trade him and select one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Fields is aware of any potential trade talks and is choosing not to worry about it via Dan Wiederer of Chicago Tribune.
“They know,” Fields said. “They know. Everybody in the building knows who I am. Like I said, I can control what I can control, and that’s it.”

It’s a mature response from Fields who seems to be handling the uncertainty of his future with the team well.
Fields must know that Chicago will be tempted to reset the franchise with someone like Caleb Williams or Drake Maye, but all he can do is continue putting on good tape.
There’s the possibility that the Bears simply keep Fields and draft a quarterback anyway, allowing the latter to develop behind the scenes.
There’s no doubt that Fields can thrive in the NFL, but now the question is which team would allow him the best chance to flourish.
