It’s the dawn of a new era for the Chicago Bears.
The Justin Fields chapter has already been closed, and it’ll most likely be Caleb Williams’ team moving forward.
Fields, on the other hand, will have to fight for a starting spot with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers traded a conditional sixth-round pick to get him, which showed how much his trade value had plummeted in the past couple of months.
With that in mind, the Ohio State product took to Twitter to thank the fans and the city for embracing him, the Bears organization for giving him an opportunity, and each and every single one of his teammates.
“Can’t say thank you enough to the city of Chicago for taking me in and embracing me. Thank you to the entire Bears organization and ownership for allowing me the opportunity to be part of such a historic franchise,” Fields wrote.

The Bears didn’t have enough skill players, and they had one of the worst offensive lines in the league.
It’s hard to win under those conditions, and it’s hard to develop if you’re forced to play a different kind of game.
He’ll now get a clean slate with the Steelers, starting from scratch under a different offensive coordinator in Arthur Smith.
He’ll learn a new system altogether, and so will Russell Wilson, so there should be an open competition for the starting spot.
Whether he’ll be able to beat the former Super Bowl champion for the QB1 spot remains to be seen.
