There was a lot of hype for the Baltimore Ravens during the 2023 NFL season as they had the makings of a potential Super Bowl champion.
The Ravens owned the best defense in the league, but it was the play of Lamar Jackson that had most believing that the Ravens would finally get over the hump.
For all the regular season success that Jackson has, he’s faltered in the playoffs as he owns a paltry 2-5 record.
Baltimore and Jackson fell short against the Kansas City Chiefs this past weekend, a disappointing result given they had home field advantage.
The offense sputtered against the Chiefs’ stout defense and left many wondering if Jackson would be able to overcome his postseason troubles.
Kay Adams did a deep-dive on Jackson’s playoff struggles and offered an intriguing theory via her personal Twitter account.
“I think Lamar’s been pressing in these spots a bit,” Adams said. “He tries to take so much on himself in these big games.”

When watching his playoff games, it does seem like Jackson is forcing things more than usual and that’s likely due to the pressure and defensive looks he’s getting.
Jackson is at his best when he keeps the football for himself, but he often gets himself in trouble when facing trouble in the pocket.
The former MVP made a critical mistake in the fourth quarter against the Chiefs when he got picked off in the end zone throwing into triple coverage.
Jackson is young enough to learn from his previous mistakes, though he’ll need to prove he can actually win in the postseason.
