The Tampa Bay Buccaneers just took care of the most important issue on their agenda.
Securing Mike Evans for the next couple of years will be huge for them, not just for his impact on the field but also for what that signing could mean.
According to NFL insider Kay Adams, the fact that they managed to keep Evans all but guarantees that they will also get Baker Mayfield.
Talking on her “Up & Adams” show, she pointed out that Evans’ agent stated that the star wide receiver didn’t want to mess things up by playing for a quarterback he doesn’t trust or know, so that should speak volumes of his relationship with Mayfield.

Mayfield revived his career at Raymond James Stadium.
He made the most of the opportunity he got from Todd Bowles and Dave Canales, posting numbers that were quite similar to Tom Brady in his final season in the league.
Unsurprisingly, Evans also played a huge role in that and was his favorite target by a significant margin.
Mayfield is now about to get a very lucrative deal, and while some might be worried about some regression after getting paid, we know he’s a fierce competitor who always plays with a big chip on his shoulder.
The rest of the NFC South division is looking to get better and take their throne after three consecutive divisional banners.
Now, it’ll be up to their star quarterback-wide receiver combo to make sure that doesn’t happen.
