It’s the dawn of a new era for the Washington Commanders.
With a new ownership, a flurry of draft picks, and plenty of cap space to spare, new GM Adam Peters was tasked to reshape this roster, and reshape it he has.
While the Commanders haven’t made any flashy additions yet, they’ve made sure to address all of their areas of need, adding proven veterans and still having plenty of money to make more moves.
That’s why NFL reporter Kay Adams has them as the winners of the offseason thus far.
Talking on her Up & Adams Show, Adams pointed out the fact that this team is looking to reshape it’s culture by adding well-known veterans.
“They won free agency in my opinion,” Adams said about the Washington Commanders.

She compared it to what the Houston Texans did last season by adding multiple under-the-radar players who were instrumental in their culture turnaround and eventual postseason berth.
On top of that, they’re going to have the No. 2 pick and multiple selections to keep adding more young talent to build the roster around.
Of course, it might take a while before these moves come to fruition and the Commanders are back to the playoffs, as they’re still far behind the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles in the race for the NFC East Division.
Then again, it’s always nice to see teams doing things well, and Adam Peters seems to have a plan in place and looks like a guy who definitely knows what he’s doing.
The future could be very bright for the new-look Washington Commanders.
