The Minnesota Vikings desperately need a starting-caliber quarterback.
With Kirk Cousins out of town, they need someone who can take the reins of this team for years to come.
That’s why most people have them taking a quarterback in the first round of the upcoming edition of the NFL Draft.
With that in mind, HC Kevin O’Connell raved about LSU star Jayden Daniels, praising him for his speed and claiming that he’s an exciting prospect (via KFAN 1003 and Vikingz Fan Page).
“When you dive into his tape, he is a guy that wins. When he takes off, there is no angle that is safe for the defender because of his speed. He’s an exciting prospect,” O’Connell said.

Some believe Daniels is the best and most NFL-ready quarterback in this class, even ahead of Caleb Williams.
He excelled during his days in the Big Easy, and the prospect of having him with Aaron Jones and Justin Jefferson is exciting.
Nonetheless, Vikings fans shouldn’t get their hopes up right now.
They won’t be on the clock until No. 11, and he most likely won’t be available by then.
Then again, they do have the No. 23 selection as well, so they could package both and trade up to get another player.
Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye will more than likely be gone by the time they’re on the clock.
They could go after Michigan star J.J. McCarthy, who’s been a quick riser on draft boards lately, or stay put and get Bo Nix or Michael Penix Jr.
Whatever the case, the upcoming campaign could be a tough one for O’Connell’s team, as it’s always hard to make the transition from a franchise QB to the next one.
