The Minnesota Vikings dropped to 1-4 on the season with their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
But that may not be the biggest loss they suffered.
Star wide receiver Justin Jefferson injured his hamstring during the game.
He was removed from the game and did not return.
While Minnesota is still doing tests to determine the severity, you can tell they want to be careful with their best player.
According to Alec Lewis, Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell said, “We’re going to do what’s best for Justin and make sure we give him the treatment and plan that is a big picture positive for him.”

Those do not sound like comments from a coach who thinks Jefferson will play this upcoming week.
It would not be a surprise to see him miss a few weeks with how poorly the Vikings’ season has gone.
Jefferson has proven early in his career that he is a once-in-a-generation player.
Risking any long-term injury for short-term gain should not be considered.
Minnesota’s offense will not be the same without Jefferson as he makes up for a lot of their flaws.
Any chance they might have had to get back into contention this year may go out the window with this injury.
