The Dallas Cowboys have finally found their guy.
They hired Mike Zimmer to replace Dan Quinn as defensive coordinator, and it was a big step in the right direction.
Even former NFL WR Keyshawn Johnson admitted that this was a great hire in Arlington.
Talking on “Undisputed,” he stated that Zimmer is a pretty good defensive coordinator, talking about how he’s most likely turned down several opportunities before finally agreeing to join the Cowboys.
“It’s a pretty d*** good hire,” Johnson said.

He thinks that Zimmer knows he needs to pursue the right fit with the right players and the right personnel, and that’s what he’s going to find in Dallas.
On top of that, he believes that him being there will take plenty of pressure off Mike McCarthy’s shoulders, adding that they’re both a good fit together.
The Cowboys had a very solid defense in three years with Quinn calling the shots, at least against the pass.
They struggled mightily against the run, and that was more than evident in their Wild Card round loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Jerry Jones vowed that the team would go all-in this offseason after another heartbreaking end to the campaign.
The fans didn’t take his word for it, especially considering he had decided to stick with McCarthy after another postseason meltdown.
But hiring a proven defensive coordinator with former head coaching experience is definitely a step in the right direction.
Whether that’ll be enough to get over the hump once and for all remains to be seen.
