Since they are currently in possession of the No. 1 pick in this year’s NFL Draft, many expect the Chicago Bears to move on from Justin Fields this offseason as the team’s starting quarterback.
Fields has been with the Bears since they selected him with the No. 11 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
In his three seasons with Chicago, Fields has an abysmal record of 10-28 as a starter, including 5-12 in his last 17 starts.
Despite the young signal-caller’s struggles since entering the league, FS1’s Keyshawn Johnson recently shared on “UNDISPUTED” that he believes the Bears should stick with Fields and bypass selecting a quarterback with the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft (via UNDISPUTED on Twitter).
“You drafted [Fields] to develop him, to put players around him… You don’t have to be forced into taking a quarterback [with the No. 1 pick] because everybody’s saying, ‘you should take a quarterback, you should take a quarterback, you should take a quarterback.’ You have a quarterback that’s young that’s sitting right there.”

Johnson went on to add that the people currently running the Bears are going to be out of a job if they let Fields go, and he succeeds elsewhere.
Sure, that’s possible, but what if Chicago drafts a quarterback this year who is able to immediately lead them to more success than Fields has ever been able to during the last three seasons?
Prospects end up with the wrong teams all the time in the NFL Draft, and Fields winding up with the Bears seems to be one of the latest examples.
Chicago shouldn’t even be concerning themselves with what Fields might be able to do elsewhere.
Their focus this offseason should be on improving the most important position on their roster, quarterback, and with the No. 1 pick in this year’s NFL Draft, they have a great opportunity to do just that.
