Caleb Williams could be the next big thing in the National Football League.
He’s drawn comparisons to Patrick Mahomes, and some think of him as one of the most talented quarterback prospects of all time.
Nonetheless, as good as he might be, he’s already drawing plenty of negative attention.
There were rumors about his father wanting Williams to have an ownership stake in whichever team drafts him.
And while he’s just too talented for teams to pass on him, those are the kind of character red flags that would make other prospects slip.
Considering that, fellow former No. 1 pick Keyshawn Johnson offered a piece of advice for Williams and his reps.
“Your son is a good football player but they’re not changing the rules for your son,” Johnson said.

Talking on Undisputed, he stated that as great as Williams is, the league simply isn’t going to change the rules because of him.
He argues that his father makes some valid points and reasonable questions, but that doesn’t make it any more realistic.
Simply put, the NFL Players Association signed certain agreements when they negotiated the latest CBA, and that’s the end of the story.
Johnson said there’s nothing wrong with trying to put your son in the best position possible and using your leverage.
Then again, we’re talking about a young man who has yet to take a single snap in the National Football League, and we’ve seen many more prospects fail than live up to the expectations.
Williams could turn out to be the next big thing in the game, and hopefully, that’ll be the case.
Until then, he’ll just have to live by the rules, just like everybody else, just like all the rookies.
