Before he eventually ended up getting inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame back in 2017, former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner had one of the most unique journeys into the league in the history of the sport.
Warner didn’t get his first opportunity to be a starter in the NFL until he was 27 years old with the St. Louis Rams during the 1999 season.
After that, he went on to become a Super Bowl champion, a two-time league MVP, a four-time Pro Bowler, and a two-time First-Team All-Pro selection.
Given the amount of success he was able to have in the NFL, Warner has a pretty good idea about what it takes to be a successful quarterback in the league.
So when he talks about young passing prospects like the ones available in this year’s NFL Draft, as he did during an interview on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday, people tend to listen to what he has to say (via NFL on ESPN on Twitter).

“I do believe there’s a number of guys in this class that will be starting quarterbacks in the National Football League.”

During his conversation on the show, Warner mentioned how he could see a number of the 2024 quarterback prospects eventually emerge as longtime starters in the NFL.
He mentioned Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Michael Penix Jr. as guys he really likes from this year’s group of passing prospects.
Warner also mentioned that he can understand why some around the league like the potential that guys like Drake Maye or J.J. McCarthy could have in the league.
Will Warner be proven right, or will this year’s intriguing group of quarterback prospects fail to live up to their expectations once they enter the NFL?
