Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love will face arguably the toughest test of his career in the Divisional round matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
He’ll go against one of the top defensive units in the league and a team that finished with the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
But through all the trials and tribulations of the year, Love earned admiration from 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, who praised the young quarterback for how he handled his first season as Green Bay’s starter which included a few rough stretches of games earlier in the year.
“He’s come a long way,” Shanahan said, via 49ers on NBCS on Twitter. “When you’re with a tough record in your first year, the pressure that comes with that and just to watch him each game – he’s been consistent.”

Love proved in his first playoff game, too, that he can hang with the best teams in the NFL.
The Packers offense scored early and often against the Dallas Cowboys defense, and Love kept Green Bay ahead even as the Cowboys mounted a late comeback despite a big deficit.
The 49ers offer a different challenge entirely, though, as the defense has stars at all levels from the front-seven players to the secondary.
Love has only been tested so much during his first year as the full-time starter and San Francisco could give him trouble with how defensive coordinator Steve Wilks has been able to thwart opposing quarterbacks this season.
But at the very least, Shanahan isn’t underestimating his opponent after what he did just a week ago and throughout the second half of the season.
