Some tight end news has recently hit the NFL transaction wire.
According to insider Aaron Wilson, the Detroit Lions have signed veteran tight end Parker Hesse.
Hesse joins former tight end and current Lions head coach Dan Campbell’s team for the upcoming season after spending the last three years with the Atlanta Falcons.

He will bring even more depth to a fantastic pass-catching unit in the Motor City.
In his young career, Hesse has recorded 14 total receptions and 132 receiving yards.
The former Iowa tight end is more of a blocking tight end and special teams contributor than anything else.
He joins tight ends Sam LaPorta, Brock Wright, James Mitchell, and Shane Zylstra in that position group.
LaPorta is far and away the best tight end on the roster.
In fact, he is one of the best tight ends in the NFL despite entering just his second NFL season.
He was named an All-Pro after setting the franchise record among tight ends in receptions (86), receiving yards (889), and touchdowns (10).
Quarterback Jared Goff and him developed a fantastic connection en route to the team’s first NFC Championship Game since 1991.
Goff also has another All-Pro pass-catcher in wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown at his disposal.
St. Brown has recorded over 3,500 receiving yards in total over his first three NFL seasons.
Having two 1,000-yard running backs in David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs doesn’t hurt either.
Look for the Lions to continue to strengthen the roster just as any Super Bowl contender would prior to the start of the season.
