When the Detroit Lions are in the comfort of their own stadium, they have one of the best offenses in the NFL.
However, once they hit the road the team looks almost completely different and that was the case again in their disappointing Week 14 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Detroit narrowly escaped with a win the last time they played Chicago, but they weren’t so lucky this time around as they lost 28-13.
The Bears were the more aggressive and physical team on the field and their defense got after Jared Goff who was picked off twice.
Goff’s home-road splits are hard to ignore and it’s perhaps the reason why Cam Newton dropped his name when he recently talked about game managers versus game changers.
Woah: Cam Newton says Dak Prescott, Brock Purdy, Tua Tagovailoa and Jared Goff are all game managers…
“These are game managers, they are not difference makers.”

Newton’s comments likely didn’t go over well in the Lions’ locker room as C.J. Gardner-Johnson came to Goff’s defense via his personal Twitter account.
“If Cam talking about JG , then what are you ! Last time I check you couldn’t manage a game STOP COMING FOR MY QB!! Bring me on so we can talk FUNKY WEDNESDAY!!” Gardner-Johnson tweeted.

Gardner-Johnson doesn’t mince words in his response to Newton’s comments, and it feels like the latter is going to have to come out and respond at some point given how much attention he’s getting.
Newton’s never been one to hide his feelings and he’s been as brutally honest about things as anyone who’s played in the league.
For now, though, Goff and Detroit have bigger things to worry about as they draw the Denver Broncos in Week 15.
A win against a hot Broncos team would go a long way in settling any sort of Goff slander.
