The Detroit Lions will be playing in one of the most important games in franchise history on Sunday in their home divisional round matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
It’s a game that could shape the trajectory of the team, as the Lions proved during the regular season they’re one of the best teams in the NFL with Jared Goff under center and a quality collection of young skill position players throughout the offense.
Before the game, though, the team added two players to their active roster and one to the practice squad.
Defensive lineman Tyson Alualu and fullback Jason Cabinda were elevated to the active roster, while linebacker Julian Okwara was re-signed to the practice squad.

These are low-level moves, but the depth could be important for Detroit.
Alualu has incredibly experienced as well after he spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers.
All eyes will be on Goff and the offense, though, as he’s looked like a solid franchise quarterback all year with two amazing running backs in Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, tight end Sam LaPorta and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
They’ll face an experienced Buccaneers defense that mostly played in the Super Bowl a few years ago with Tom Brady, while the offense is now led by former No. 1 pick Baker Mayfield.
The Lions are looking to advance to the NFC title game for the first time in three decades and will get the chance to do so from the friendly confines of their home stadium.
