The Tampa Bay Buccaneers head into an interesting offseason with a ton of questions on offense after they lost offensive coordinator Dave Canales and haven’t decided on the futures of quarterback Baker Mayfield and wide receiver Mike Evans.
But another issue emerged recently after a longtime starter announced on social media he would retire from the NFL after a decade in the league.
Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen, who started 65 games for the Buccaneers from 2018 to 2021, will not return in 2024 after he missed the past two seasons with a knee injury (via Ari Meirov).
“Retiring from the game you have loved from a very young age is hard,” he wrote, via ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “I am excited for this next chapter and the new opportunities and challenges it will bring.”

Jensen, 32, suffered a serious knee injury during the 2022 offseason and missed the entire regular season before he returned for the Buccaneers’ first and only playoff game of the postseason.
He re-aggravated the injury this past offseason and missed the entire year once more.
Jensen signed a lucrative contract with the Buccaneers in 2018, where he started every game and eventually won a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay and Tom Brady in 2020 before he made his first and only Pro Bowl in 2021.
Robert Hainsey started at center for the past two seasons in Tampa Bay and will likely remain the starter going forward unless the Buccaneers want to bring in a more experienced offensive lineman.
